More Americans Are Buying Groceries Online
Online grocery shopping continues to rise in popularity, according to a new survey from Unata, a provider of digital solutions for grocers.
In 2018, 36% of U.S. consumers plan to shop online for groceries, which is up from 22% of those who shopped online in 2017.
The 2018 shopper wants a convenient, flexible online experience and will switch grocers to find it.
In fact, they want to go along for the shop.
The survey found that the secret to a strong fulfillment offering is real-time communication, with 51% of online shoppers saying they want the ability to communicate with their in-store picker during their shop.
It seems that online grocery buying is finally hitting its stride.
