To us, being a full service financial institution means doing more than simply providing financial products and services. That’s why we give back to our community in a variety of ways. From supporting local charitable organizations to getting involved in making a difference for the towns that we serve, TEG employees take pride in making a difference.
See which community events TEG will be participating in!
TEG supports a variety of community events and fundraisers throughout the year. We’re active members of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, which offers many opportunities for community involvement. We’ve also participated in the Hudson Valley Family Fest, Hyde Park Fall Fest, Newburgh Illuminated Festival, Nesheiwat Square Family Health Day, community days throughout the area we serve, and many other events.
Through sponsorship, we help community groups provide opportunities and services for people of all ages, interests, and abilities! Some of our recent sponsorships include the Twisters Booster Club, Unionvale Middle School Folders & Book Covers, Math & Science Exploration Center, Miles of Hope BCF Hoops for Hope, Abilities First Golf Tournament, Beacon Xtreme Softball, Habitat for Humanity Brick by Brick program, Marist Red Fox Booster Club, Rotary Youth Exchange, Family Services, Arlington Engine Co. 1 Wounded Warrior Project, Ladies of the Elks, World Challenge All Stars Booster Club, HV Admirals, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, and Arlington Education Foundation Tastes & Tapas. We’ve also been the proud sponsors of Little League Teams in Hyde Park, East Fishkill, Poughkeepsie, Beekman, Wappingers and Newburgh.
Education & Scholarships
As a credit union that started by serving teachers, education is particularly important to us. We believe in supporting students at all levels to help them achieve more. We conduct the Student of the Month program for DC Boces and Arlington High School in conjunction with the Arlington/Poughkeepsie Rotary. We’re also sponsors of the Literacy Connections Spelling Bee and participate in several Marist College events. TEG runs the School Savers program in Brinckerhoff, Glenham, Titusville and Gov. Clinton Elementary schools, and we’re continue to expand this support to additional schools.
Lifelong Financial Education
Financial education doesn’t stop when you graduate from high school or college; it’s a lifelong pursuit! We support several financial education initiatives to help members of our community take control of their financial lives and reach their goals. These initiatives include teaching classes through Arlington Continuing Education, Wappingers Continuing Education and the LaGrange Library; making presentations to Adult Learning Institute (ALI/BOCES) students and BOCES Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) students; and speaking to students at in grades K through 12 about personal finance at a number of local schools.
We frequently host free evening seminars for members in our Commerce St. branch lobby. Learn more about TEG’s free financial education seminars.
