Apple Pay™ is the secure and convenient way to pay, allowing you to pay with a single touch at store checkouts. Once you have set up your credit card in your Wallet app, you can make purchases anywhere that Apple Pay™ is accepted straight from your device rather than getting out your actual wallet and swiping/inserting your card. Just look for the Apple Pay™ logo when checking out!
What is Apple Pay™?
Apple Pay™ is a mobile payment and digital wallet service provided by Apple, Inc., a trailblazer in the technology industry.
It’s easy to use and the more private way to pay since card details are never shared when you use Apple Pay™. Instead, Apple Pay™ creates a unique Device Account Number, encrypting and securely storing it in your Apple device. When you make a purchase, your Device Account Number and a one-time dynamic security code are used to process the payment.
How to Get Started with Apple Pay™
Adding your TEGFCU Platinum Mastercard® to your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch is super easy.
- Open the Wallet App on the iPhone. Your card information can be added by snapping a picture or by typing it in manually.
- Add your card from your iTunes account to Wallet App by entering the security code.
Paying with Apple Pay™ is quick and easy with just two steps:
- Hold your iPhone or Apple device near the point of sale’s contactless reader with your thumb on the Touch ID/home button (do not click the button).
- A vibration and beep verify your payment information has been sent.
Note: If you are using an older iOS, you may have to double click the home button in order for your card to appear on the screen.

How are my privacy and personal information protected?
Since Apple Pay™ doesn’t store your credit or debit card number on the device, you never reveal your name, card number or security code to merchants.
Am I able to opt out of Apple Pay™ at any time?
Adding your credit or debit cards to Apple Pay™ is your choice; you can add and remove cards when needed. To remove a card, go to Apple Pay™, tap on the card, tap the “i”, then tap Remove Card.
Which merchants are participating?
You can use Apple Pay™ at thousands of merchant locations.
Can I use Apple Pay™ internationally?
Yes. Apple Pay will work on contactless terminals for international payments.
What if my phone gets lost or stolen?
Apple’s Find My iPhone website lets you suspend its ability to make payments. Or you can contact TEG and we will suspend Apple Pay™ for your card. In any case, without your thumbprint or card information, a thief should not be able to use your phone to make purchases.
What if my card is lost or stolen?
Contact us as soon as possible. Once you receive your replacement card you can add your new card to Apple Pay™.
How do I return an item?
The merchant can process the return like any other return. To see the last four digits used by Apple Pay™, go to Wallet, tap the card, and tap “i” to find “device number.” Some merchants may need to “see” the card. You would follow the same steps you used when making the purchase.
Is Apple Pay™ free?
Yes. Be aware that message and data rates may apply, depending on your data plan.
