Congress is barreling toward a government shutdown deadline. With 24 hours left to negotiate, Republicans and Democratic senators left the Capitol Building Thursday night without knowing what will happen next to keep the government open. The House passed a bill to keep the government funded for another four weeks, but prospects in the Senate look dim.
